APPRENTICE SKIPPER
STAY AFLOAT. KNOW WHAT TO DO.
The Apprentice Skipper Safe Boating Programme is an initiative designed to provide practical, boating and water safety experience for older kids.
The programme is currently being designed and will go into more depth about becoming a skipper onboard a vessel. It will also include in-water survival techniques, essential safety equipment (e.g. correct lifejacket selection and fitting), the importance of communications, and taking responsibility for personal safety. Boating activities are taught in a fun, controlled, and safe environment.
WHEN WILL THE PROGRAMME BE LIVE?
We understand that there is a need for this programme so we are working hard to develop this as quickly as we can. With so many kiwis loving the water it is important to be able to help and be a valued crew member. Plus learn some vital skills along the way.
