The Safe Boating Programme by Coastguard Education offers children hands-on boating and water safety experience, regardless of their confidence level. This initiative covers essential in-water survival techniques such as:
- Proper selection and fitting of lifejackets.
- The HELP and Huddle position, stressing the importance of keeping warm in the water.
- Rescue chains and how to stay and move together.
- How to exit and get back on board your boat
- Throw ropes and the importance of communication
The program is run in a pool and provides a fun, controlled, and safe environment for learning valuable boating skills.

PRACTICAL SKILLS

My daughter’s favourite activity is falling backwards off the boat. Using the boat is a highlight on each swimming season and translates to outside swimming lessons and into the real word.

My child loved the Safe Boating Programme! They learned so much about water safety and had fun doing it. They even taught me things about what to do in an emergency. Highly recommend!.“
