INTERESTED IN A
SCHOOL VISIT

Coastguard have units all over the country and we would love to come visit and inspire children to be safe around boats and water. It’s important to know the basics and fitting a lifejacket is a skill for life.

FITTING A
LIFEJACKET

A lifejacket should fit nice and snugly and shouldn’t be up by your ears at any time when you are in the water.

Lifejackets for children will always have a crotch strap and a collar. This is to keep you safe if you fall out of your boat. The crotch strap keeps the lifejacket from rising up and makes it easier to breathe

Collar fits around your neck Doesn't ride up to your ears Zip and Click Wear your crotch strap Fits snugly. Is the correct size.
