Clip It. Wear It. Win It.

The Clip & Go Challenge is here!

From Labour Day to Waitangi Day, every correctly worn lifejacket earns you a Skipper Stamp. Collect all ten and you could win a Banshee two-person tow tube!

WHY THIS
MATTERS NOW

From 9 October 2026, a new nationwide rule means everyone on board a boat, jet ski, kayak, or paddleboard 6 metres or under must wear a lifejacket the whole time you’re on the water, not just when things get rough. It doesn’t matter if you’re paddling across a calm lake or heading out past the heads. If your craft is underway, your lifejacket needs to be on.

The Clip & Go Challenge turns that new rule into something to look forward to. Every time you wear your lifejacket properly, buckled, clipped, and crotch strap done up, you’re not just following the rules. You’re earning your next Skipper Stamp.

How to play

Four easy steps from the boat ramp to the prize draw.

Download your Clip & Go chart

Grab your chart from this page and print it out, or pop it up somewhere you’ll see it before every trip on the water.

Wear it right, every time

Put your lifejacket on properly before you head out. That means:

Zipped or buckled up

Snug, not saggy

Crotch strap clipped in

Worn the whole time you’re on the water, not just at the start

Earn your Skipper Stamp

Every outing you wear your lifejacket correctly, no arguments and no taking it off halfway through, you earn a Skipper Stamp sticker on your chart.

Fill all ten spaces

Keep going until your chart is full. Ten outings, ten stamps, one very proud Skipper.

Print it.
Stick it on the fridge.
Go!

Ten spaces, ten outings. Lost your chart? Just download another copy and keep going.

Finish your chart,
win a Banshee!

Once you’ve earned all ten Skipper Stamps, you’re in the running to win a Banshee two-person sit-in tow tube (worth RRP $499.00), perfect for towing behind the boat for an afternoon of laughs on the water. One lucky Skipper Squad member will be picked to win.

2-person sit-in Worth RRP $499.00 Drawn 12 Feb 2027

A few things every Skipper should know

N

Choose the right lifejacket for the activity. A lifejacket for the lake isn’t always right for the open water.

N

Make sure it’s a proper fit. A child needs a child-sized lifejacket with a crotch strap; an adult one won’t keep their head above water.

N

Check the crotch strap is clipped in every time. It’s what stops the lifejacket riding up.

N

Check the crotch strap is clipped in every time. It’s what stops the lifejacket riding up.

N

If you’ve got an inflatable lifejacket, get it serviced every year.

FAQs

Who can take part in the Clip and Go Challenge?

Any Skipper Squad member heading out on the water with a parent or guardian between 26 October 2026 and 6 February 2027.

What counts as "wearing it correctly"?

Your lifejacket needs to be properly fitted, done up, with the crotch strap clipped in, and worn the whole time you’re on the water, not just for photos.

Can I earn more than one stamp per day?

One stamp per outing on the water, so get out there as often as you can.

What if I lose my chart?

No worries, download another copy from this page and keep going.

Do I need a grown-up's help to enter?

Yes. A parent or guardian needs to take your photo and send in your entry, so grab them for the final step.
